Lucas County Canine Care and Control Hosts Dog Adoption Event

MAUMEE, Ohio (WTVG) — With more than 60 dogs and puppies looking for new homes, Lucas County Canine Care and Control is hosting an adoption event Saturday.

In partnership with Furniture Palace, the event will take place in the store parking lot located at 1436 S. Reynolds Rd., Maumee from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Adoption fees for dogs over six months old are reduced to $25 strictly for the off-site event. Fees include neutering or neutering your new pet, initial vaccinations, registered microchipping, heartworm screening and prevention, and parasite treatment.

The shelter requires the purchase of a license – which is $25 – and is viable until January 31, 2023.

Beyond adoptable dogs, the event will feature giveaways, a live broadcast from a local radio station, as well as the Tamale Guy food truck and Glaze ‘Em Gourmet Funnel cakes.

Lucas County Canine Care & Control is always looking for donations of old towels, blankets, treats and toys and anyone interested in volunteering is encouraged to visit the shelter and submit a request. Monetary donations can be made to the Cutie’s Fund to help defray the costs of our dogs’ medical needs.
