Humane Society of Tampa Bay in crisis and waives dog adoption fees

It’s the perfect time to expand your four-legged family! The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is waiving adoption fees for dogs over 30 pounds. Of From Tuesday 4 October to Friday 7 October all dogs that weigh 30 pounds or more will have their adoption fees waived. The Humane Society is so full that they are no longer accepting strays or abandonments until further notice.

Maybe you’re not ready to fully adopt, or you already have a house full of pets, foster care may be right for you. Wet nurses are also needed for the overflow of animals at the shelter. Open your home to an animal while waiting to find its furry family.

Ian had caused flooding at Bowling Green Animal Control in Hardee County, so an HSTB volunteer sprang into action. The volunteer lowered and rescued 6 dogs and 14 kittens. The Humane Society is also a distribution point for Greater Good Charities to provide food and shelter supplies for those affected by Hurricane Ian. If you’re looking for another way to help, consider donating to HSTB.

At this time, the shelter is requesting basic supplies such as:

  • Pet food and treats
  • Water
  • Toys
  • Dog beds
  • leashes

Pro tip: Instead of going to Petsmart to pick up all those donate items, consider buying those supplies from the Humane Society store. All money spent inside the HSTB store goes straight back into the Vault!
