Market Harborough dog trainer celebrates earning coveted industry accolade.

Jo Cramp, 27, won the ‘Best Dog Behavior and Training Business – Leicestershire’ award as part of the LuxLife Pet Products and Services awards.

The delighted canine expert born and bred in Market Harborough is based in the town and helps train dozens of dogs within a 15-mile radius.

Jo set up and runs her successful business JC Dog Behavior & Training after graduating from Harper Adams University in Shropshire with a BSc Hons in Animal Behavior & Welfare.

“I started JC Dog Behavior & Training just before the second Covid lockdown in January 2021 as a part-time business alongside my other part-time position with Leicester Animal Rescue as a kennel assistant.

“After qualifying with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers, achieving the Distinction level, in August 2021, I decided to take the plunge as a full-time dog behaviorist and trainer in December 2021”, Jo said.

“Since opening, I have helped over 100 owners with individual sessions and over 150 owners in progress.

“I have recently specialized in working with reactive dogs who bark/rush/grow at other dogs as well as puppies under six months old.

“I pride myself on using reward-based, fun, and force-free methods when working with my clients because they provide better and longer-lasting results than punishment-based training,” added Jo.
