HALO Hosts Dog Adoption Open House
XENIA – HALO K9 Behavior Consultation will be hosting a dog adoption event at their facility from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday.
The HALO adoption open house will feature 14 dogs between the ages of seven and seven, along with three 12-week-old puppies. Dogs come in a variety of breeds, including Chow mixes, Doberman mixes, and more, with some animals being larger. The dogs and their masters will welcome visitors in order to get to know each other.
It is advised that not all dogs get along and will be separated into different parts of the facility inside and outside. The puppies have started obedience and socialization exercises.
Cathy Winter Brown, Public Relations and Adoption Coordinator, will be on hand to answer questions.
“All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, monthly preventatives, microchipped, spayed and neutered. They also come with post-adoption training support,” owner Regina Willen said.
HALO offers certified dog behavior consultations, as well as help with issues such as separation anxiety, aggression, reactivity, and resource guarding. The “Fearless” organization ensures that all of its training methods are centered around positive reinforcement, praise, and rewards. HALO also offers behavior modification and training for shelter dogs and pets.
The five-acre facility is located in New Jasper Township and provides each dog with a 10×10 room while they receive treatment. Dogs six months and younger typically cost $350 to adopt, and older pets cost around $150.
Potential adopters will be asked to complete an application and a home visit may be scheduled before a dog is released. The organization relies on private donations and gladly accepts donations of dog food, crates, toys, bedding and leashes.
Operational since 2018, the building is located at 3346 Jasper Road. For more information on consultation, boarding, or to schedule a visit, call 937-736-2055.
The puppies and other dogs will be available for adoption at HALO’s Adoption Open House from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at its New Jasper Township facility.
